Your heart is the center of your being. Think of it as the bridge between the part of you that is spirit and the part of you that is matter, reminding you to claim both in the wholeness of your being. It keeps the pulse of life in balance. It carries the moving waves of your feelings and emotions, bringing awareness to you of the imprints they may or may not be pressing upon your soul. Your heart is the spiritual guide within you, shining the light of wisdom as it rays forth like the brilliance of the sun. You know its warmth and its wisdom when you trust the decisions you make from the very core of your being. Perhaps, because it is a space between spirit and matter, it is open and receptive to the presence of Love, Light and Life dwelling both within it and coming into it from cosmic sources of being. You are capable of sharing the gifts of your heart as you pour their living energies outwardly and as you receive all that fills you inwardly with nourishing refreshment.
Source of Compassion & Consciousness how might you meet and be met by the compassionate presence
of love and wisdom abiding within your heart?
To meet and to be met is an invitation for sharing mutuality. A compassionate presence abides within you and yet, you are also met and held by the source of its loving presence. What is it like to be met by love? What is it like to meet love with love? How are these energies of meeting and receiving alke or different?
Take a moment to remember a time when you met the heart of a person, or the beauty of a place, or the wonder of another living being with your full presence, completely open and attentive, compassionate and accepting, loving, welcoming, and warm . . .
Recall another moment when you were met by a person, place or living being in a way that you experienced as loving, welcoming and warm . . .
Be aware of the thoughts, feelings, and sensations within you as you welcome--and also, as you are welcomed. You may wish to describe them to yourself or another person, writing them down for yourself or speaking them aloud to be reflected back by the person you choose to listen to you. Notice the energy in your experiences. See if you have a preference for meeting or being met. If you do, practice the one that is less preferred more frequently in the next few weeks and be aware of changes in yourself in the process. Come to recognize when you bring intentionality to the quality of your meetings and how it is that compassionate presence is being expressed. How is it that you are both the offering energy of source and the receptive energy of vessel for the compassionate presence?
Exploring Your "heartwisdom" how might you discover and be guided by
the light, love and life of your heartwisdom?
Life is an adventurous journey calling forth the wholeness of our being by the light of wisdom shining upon our path, the love of relationship connecting us to one another, and a life of choices to be considered and actions to be embarked upon. Often, we seek guidance and wisdom from people who have traveled the path ahead of us. Coming to recognize that my destiny is not the same as anyone else's, I must reclaim the "heartwisdom" within me in order to walk my own path. Developing this trust and being willing to lean into it when I am lost is an act of coming home to the center and the source. Once we know where home is, our capacity to return increases and we are supported by the gifts of light, love and life that abide there.

Finally, revisit a decision that influenced the quality of your life.
Recognize how the energies of light, love and life are constant companions on your path.
Conscious & Compassionate Practices: The Mindfulness of Reverence
Mindfulness is a quality of focus. Reverence is an energy of love evoking awe and deep respect. Practice the mindfulness of reverence as you enter the center of your being. Recall the beauty of nature and then, remember that you are a part of it and it is a part of you.
The Warmth of Love
Warmth is a sensation. Love is an energy of life and an expression of the heart. Practice the warmth of love as you connect with feelings and emotions moving through your heart, particularly, when you forget the wholeness and fullness of your being and instead, inflict the negative energy of stories and projections inwardly upon your self. Give to your self the compassionate love and caring presence of one who welcomes and accepts you "as you are."
The Intentionality of Connection Intention is a direction for your actions, a conscious focus for the will. Connection is a meeting between yourself and others, or between various parts of yourself. Practice the intentionality of self-connection in moments of fight, flight or freeze that take you away from your heart. Instead, open your heart to meet that which you are defending, running away from or terrified to be with. Self-connect by meeting resistance with open arms, a soft belly and an innocent and welcoming curiosity. Connect with whatever is present welcoming and listeing to what it wants to say. Listen by noticing the energy, being attentive to body sensations, to feelings, to thoughts or stories that you may be hearing, and to invitations for movement or response or action. Sometimes, it is important to explore the reverse of what you think you are experiencing. For example, if you are experiencing darkness, imagine focus on its complementary energy of light for awhile and then, return to the darkness to see how one is related to the other, perhaps, a part of the other...Heart-Centered Communication
Communicating from your heart is an active way of responding to self and to others with the warmth of a compassionate heart and the wisdom of conscious awareness. It is an intentional practice of bringing the compassionate presence and energy of empathy abiding within you to every meeting. Practice communicating in this way with yourself by having a dialogue between the voices of feelings wanting to be heard and/or of needs longing to be met. The dialogue may be written, imagined, role-played with symbols characterizing each part, or role-played with a friend who is willing to offer you the loving presence that you need in this process of connecting and communicating with these parts of your self.
